Track Access and Supervisory Management

October 2021 PRB Consulting approached by Network Rail to provide support the installation of over 21,000 metres of tactile paving over 50 station platforms in the Eastern Region by March 2022. The timescales created a number of challenges relating to late notice access requests, yet PRB met the challenge head on and had possession access agreed for the majority of works in Early January 2022. A dedicated Possession Manager was appointed to develop an overall access strategy, they then took overall control of the planning process and liaised with all parties; including Network Rail, Principal Contractors and Contractors in securing the possessions and worksites.

 

PRB Consulting were then asked by Network Rail to provide a Construction Site Manager (CSM) with the necessary skills to monitor and oversee the project delivery. Following the appointment in December 2021 our CSM has been working closely with Network Rail, our Possession Manager and the appointed contractors in ensuring a quality product is installed. Our CSM is visiting contractor sites on a daily basis, monitoring and recording the works taking place, and through the use of our electronic reporting process is able to feedback to Network Rail in real time.
